Mississauga Music Walk of Fame Announces 2022 Inductees

GRAMMY Award-winning recording artist and songwriter Alessia Cara, and Internationally Renowned Producer, Songwriter, and Musician, Don Mills are to be Inducted on September 11th as part of this year’s Tim Horton’s Southside Shuffle Blues and Jazz Festival

Mississauga, ON (May 12, 2022)  – The Mississauga Music Walk of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on September 11th  at 11 am at Memorial Park’s Gazebo Stage in Port Credit Ontario to honour these Internationally renowned Canadians with their roots in Mississauga.

Alessia CaraAlessia Cara was born in Mississauga and raised in Brampton Ontario. Her debut studio album, Know-It-All (2015), peaked at number 8 on the Canadian Albums Chart and at number 9 on the Billboard 200. In 2018, she received nominations for four GRAMMY Awards, winning the GRAMMY for Best New Artist. She was nominated for Song of the Year and Record of the Year at the Latin GRAMMYS for her collaboration with Juanes on “Querer Mejor“. Her second studio album, The Pains of Growing released in 2018, also won a Juno Award for Album of the Year and Juno Award for Pop Album of the Year as well as a Juno for Songwriter of the Year. Her third album, In the Meantime, was released on September 24, 2021, to positive reviews.

Don Mills,Don Mills is a multi-platinum and Grammy-nominated record producer, songwriter, and musician from Mississauga where he has resided for over 20 yrs. He has worked with a variety of artists and groups, most notably the #1 Billboard100 album “Death Race For Love” by Juice WRLD, Klingande, Givēon, Maroon 5, Cordae, J. Cole, RUSS, Alessia Cara, Fito Blanko, and Rea Garvey among others. Don is currently working on a number of projects across the industry ranging from hip-hop to R&B and is excited for what’s to come in the near future.

About the Mississauga Music Walk of Fame:

Established in 2012 by the late Mississauga City Councilor Jim Tovey a former musician, the MMWF features Mississauga musicians and Industry leaders who have made a significant contribution to the world of music. Previous inductees include the great Oscar Peterson, Gil Moore and Rik Emmett of Triumph, Ronnie Hawkins, Tommy Hunter, Denny Doherty of the Mamas and Papas, Jeff Healey, Phil X of Bon Jovi,  Liberty Silver, and many more. The Mississauga Music Walk of Fame is located in Memorial Park, Port Credit Ontario.
