Recognizing the careers and achievements of our local music legends

Mississauga Music Walk of Fame

The Mississauga Music Walk of Fame honours local musicians who have made a significant impact on the city, Music Industry builders and innovators, and Mississauga’s very own International Superstars. It was founded in 2012 by the late Mississauga City Councillor Jim Tovey, a former rock musician who received his own star on The Walk following his untimely death in 2017.

In 2012, Councillor Tovey and the founding Walk of Fame Committee comprised of local music historians and enthusiasts John Stewart, Mike Beggs and Ric Cooper and performer/producer Patti Jannetta joined with the Port Credit BIA, the Southside Shuffle Blues Festival, sponsors and enthusiastic supporters to bring the first Mississauga Music Walk of Fame to life.

The Mississauga Music Walk of Fame is located in Port Credit Memorial Park in Mississauga Ontario.

What a way to kick off a Walk of Fame!

Inducted that first year were, the great Oscar Peterson, the legendary Ronnie Hawkins, opera singer Krisztina Szabo, and Triumph drummer and industry entrepreneur Gil Moore. Since then we have seen the induction of stars such as George “Strombo” Stroumboulopoulos, Rik Emmett from Triumph, Denny Doherty from Mamas and Papas, Jeff Healey, Liberty Silver,  Randy Lennox, former President Bell Media, Phil X from Bon Jovi many more. These are all internationally renowned individuals with interesting stories and remarkable careers.

Please take the opportunity to visit the Mississauga Music Walk of Fame with Inductees’ names forever engraved on granite plaques installed in the walking path of Memorial Park, Port Credit, the musical hub of Mississauga.
