18 Jun Mississauga Music Walk of Fame Announces 2025 Inductees
Internationally acclaimed musician, songwriter, and Prince guitarist, Donna Grantis, along with legendary Mississauga hard-rock power trio, TRIUMPH, will be inducted into the Mississauga Music Walk of Fame as part of this year’s Tim Horton’s Southside Shuffle Blues and Jazz Festival. TRIUMPH to receive a first-ever “ICON AWARD” celebrating their 50th Anniversary.
“We are genuinely excited to be inducting these two outstanding and deserving artists this year”, said Cliff Hunt, Chair, Mississauga Music Walk of Fame. “Donna is a virtuoso guitarist who has certainly shattered the glass ceiling! TRIUMPH’s 50th Anniversary is this year, and we could not think of a more fitting tribute than to honour them with this unique “ICON Award”, acknowledging their enduring impact and contribution to our community.”
The Induction Ceremony will take place on September 7 at 11:00 am at Memorial Park’s Gazebo Stage in Port Credit, Ontario, and the public is welcome to join the festivities.

Donna Grantis was born and raised in the Applewood Heights community of Mississauga. From 2012-2016, she performed and recorded with musical icon Prince as the co-lead electric guitarist in his funk-rock trio 3RDEYEGIRL and supergroup New Power Generation. Grantis composed the title track to Prince & 3RDEYEGIRL’s 2014 album, PLECTRUMELECTRUM, which reached #1 on the Billboard Rock Chat. |

The trio of Rik Emmett (guitar, vocals), Mike Levine (bass, keyboards), and Gil Moore (drums, vocals), TRIUMPH, defined and epitomized arena rock in the 70s and 80s and has received 25 Gold and Platinum Awards in Canada and the United States, a testament to their endless touring and loyal fans. In 1983, Triumph co-headlined the US Festival in California, which attracted nearly 500,000 rock fans, rivalling Woodstock as the largest festival audience in US concert history. |
About the Mississauga Music Walk of Fame:
Established in 2012 by the late Mississauga City Councilor Jim Tovey a former musician, the MMWF features Mississauga musicians and Industry leaders who have made a significant contribution to the world of music. Previous inductees include the great Oscar Peterson, Gil Moore and Rik Emmett of Triumph, Ronnie Hawkins, Tommy Hunter, Denny Doherty of the Mamas and Papas, Jeff Healey, Phil X of Bon Jovi, Liberty Silver, Alessia Cara, and many more. The Mississauga Music Walk of Fame is in Memorial Park, Port Credit, Ontario.
