
The trio of Gil Moore (drums, vocals), Rik Emmett (guitar, vocals), and Mike Levine (bass, keyboards), TRIUMPH, defined and epitomized arena rock in the 70s and 80s and has received 25 Gold and Platinum Awards in Canada and the United States, a testament to their endless touring and loyal fans. In 1983, Triumph co-headlined the US Festival in California, which attracted nearly 500,000 rock fans, rivalling Woodstock as the largest festival audience in US concert history.
In 2007, they were inducted into the Canadian Music & Broadcast Industry Hall of Fame, and at the 2008 Junos, Triumph was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. In July that year, “Triumph Lane”, a street in their home base of Mississauga, was officially dedicated in honour of the band by Mayor Hazel McCallion. In the fall of 2019, Triumph was inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame, and in June 2021, Triumph was inducted into the Metal Hall of Fame in Anaheim, California.
The fall of 2021 saw the release of the Banger Films feature documentary about Triumph’s career, “Rock ‘n Roll Machine” which debuted at The Toronto International Film Festival and a Triumph tribute album featuring Dee Snider, Slash, Nancy Wilson, and many others is scheduled for release in June of this year. 50 years after bursting onto the scene, one thing is crystal clear… Triumph’s legacy lives on!
