We would like to congratulate internationally acclaimed musician, songwriter, and Prince guitarist, Donna Grantis, along with legendary Mississauga hard-rock power trio, TRIUMPH,  as they are inducted into the Mississauga Music Walk of Fame as part of this year’s Tim Horton’s Southside Shuffle Blues and Jazz Festival. This year’s ceremony took place on September 7th at 11:00 am at Memorial Park’s Gazebo Stage in Port Credit, Ontario.

Donna Grantis

Donna Grantis was born and raised in the Applewood Heights community of Mississauga. From 2012-2016, she performed and recorded with musical icon Prince as the co-lead electric guitarist in his funk-rock trio 3RDEYEGIRL and supergroup New Power Generation. Grantis composed the title track to Prince & 3RDEYEGIRL’s 2014 album, PLECTRUMELECTRUM, which reached #1 on the Billboard Rock Chat.

TRIUMPH

TRIUMPH defined and epitomized arena rock in the 70s and 80s and has received 25 Gold and Platinum Awards in Canada and the United States, a testament to their endless touring and loyal fans. In 1983, Triumph co-headlined the US Festival in California, which attracted nearly 500,000 rock fans, rivalling Woodstock as the largest festival audience in US concert history.
