Cliff Hunt, Chair

A Mississauga resident for over 30 years, Cliff Hunt was the Founder, Chairman, and COO of industry leading software company YANGAROO Inc. Cliff started his career as a musician and then spent 25yrs as a successful artist manager, concert promotor, and dealmaker.

In 1999 he founded YANGAROO Inc, a software developer to provide secure digital delivery of music files over the internet, and its patented DMDS service was first to deliver high quality music tracks from record companies to radio stations all over Canada, becoming the first country in the world to move to secure digital delivery. The company went public in 2003 and partnered with MTV/Viacom Broadcasting in New York to deliver music videos to television networks followed by delivery of television commercials to TV networks throughout North America.

In 2008, the company developed a digital platform for awards shows, and today, “YANGAROO Awards” is the industry standard for awards shows throughout North America that include The GRAMMYS, The Emmys, The Golden Globes, The Tony Awards, The Academy of Country Music Awards, The Junos, and many more.

Cliff retired in 2017 and is still active as an industry consultant sitting on a number of boards and in 2019 was named Chair of the Mississauga Music Walk of Fame. In 2024 at the Mississauga Music Awards Ceremony, Cliff was named “Industry Person of the Year”.

Don McVie, Vice Chair /Treasurer

Our Vice Chair, Don McVie, founded the Event Transportation System (ETS) in 1973 while he was still in college. At that time there was no Ticketmaster and few venues in smaller communities that could attract the big name artists or shows. What started out as a student strategy to see concerts, required that Don figure out how to buy blocks of tickets and organize a bus ride so fans, like him, could party on the road. While building the business was not without plenty of twists and turns on the road, ETS grew into worldwide business that served roughly 3 million fans – one of the very few to ever be trusted by artist and fan alike. Between 1977 and 2006 ETS served audiences for virtually every major concert tour or festival around the world including the Rolling Stones, U2, Pink Floyd, Madonna, Garth Brooks, George Michael and the Backstreet Boys. The list is very long.

Chances are, that if you came from a small town in Canada or the US and took an organized bus trip (promoted by local radio), you rode a “Concert Caravan”….You Rock. We Roll!, flew to a show with “Escape Routes” or enjoyed a concert pre-show event with ETS Nite Out!

Not surprisingly, while working shows and serving fans worldwide, ETS quietly maintained its headquarters in Port Credit, Ontario!

Patti Jannetta, Secretary / Director

Singer-composer, Actor, Creator, Patti’s artistic journey began as a teen actress in the LA/Vegas production of Jesus Christ Superstar across the hall from Elvis and Gladys Knight. She toured with icons Ronnie Hawkins and Bo Diddley and represented Canada at the Sopot Music festival where she not only won over the audience but ended up winning the festival’s “musicians’ favourite” award and appearing with headliner Charles Aznavour

Patti signed a record contract, wrote originals, and travelled across North America, Europe, and Asia performing at festivals and concert venues, promoting three albums and music videos spawning a Juno nomination, Top 10 and 20 hits, and a Diamond Record. She starred in her own CTV special, hosted telethons and co-headlined eight Much Music New Years Eve concerts at Nathan Phillips Square televised to millions. Patti’s production about her father Memories of Louis Jannetta & The Imperial Room, an original musical, continues to tour to sold-out enthusiastic crowds.

A founding Director of award-winning festivals including the Mississauga Waterfront Festival, SING! TO Vocal Arts Festival and Mississauga Italfest, and an avid community and arts supporter she passionately mentors emerging artists. Numerous awards include a Queens Golden Jubilee Medal, Laurie Pallett Patron of the Arts, Brilliant-Minded Woman Award, International Woman of Inspiration Award and Patti being the 2020 recipient of a granite star on the Mississauga Music Walk of Fame.

Home has always been special, whether the first Canada Day celebration in the city at Saddington Park, Hazel McCallion Galas for the Arts, recording 2 albums and filming a video for SickKids of her co-written song Healing Hands, Changing Lives at Metalworks, or bringing her father’s memoirs to life at the Living Arts Centre, Patti Jannetta is a Mississauga loyalist.

President of JANTA Entertainment Group and Co-owner of Music Makes Miracles Inc. Patti enjoys producing exciting, distinctive events for non-profits and charities by fundraising through the gift of music.

Joey Cee, Director

A man of many varied talents, Joey Cee is noted as one of Canada’s successful entertainment entrepreneurs and a renaissance man. Over the past 60 years he has earned a reputation of being creative and diversified, managing to handle his projects with attention to detail. His hands-on approach applied towards all his productions has earned him accolades from his peers and the press. In 1988, Joey was chosen as one of the Top 50 Men of Influence in Peter Worthington’s “Influence Magazine”. On March 7th,1998, he was inducted into the RPM Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame. He twice received the Digital Media Award for interactive show production.

Publisher of Record Week magazine, writer of hit songs, singer of hit songs (He picked out Any Dream Will Do as the most likely hit from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Coat and recorded it under the pseudonym Joseph and had a hit with it), record producer (once commissioned by Hugh Hefner to record the winning band in Playboy’s annual music poll), festival producer (Beaches Jazz Festival, the annual Chocolate Festival and Chocolate Ball, the Canada Day Country Jam etc.)

In September 2014, he was honoured with a star on Mississauga’s Music Walk of Fame alongside Billy Talent, Tommy Hunter, Oscar Peterson, Ronnie Hawkins and members of Triumph.

And now Joey Cee is a proud member of the Board of Directors of the Mississauga Music Walk of Fame.
