Alessia Cara was born in Mississauga and raised in Brampton Ontario. Alessia gained popularity with her breakout single “Here” in 2015, which reached the top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song’s introspective lyrics and unique sound resonated with audiences and established her as a promising artist.

Alessia Cara’s music blends elements of pop, R&B, and soul, often featuring introspective and relatable lyrics. She released her debut studio album, “Know-It-All,” in 2015, which included hit singles like “Scars to Your Beautiful” and “Wild Things” and peaked at number 8 on the Canadian Albums Chart and at number 9 on the Billboard 200. In 2017, Alessia released her second studio album, “The Pains of Growing,” which showcased her growth as an artist and songwriter. The album featured singles such as “Growing Pains” and “Trust My Lonely.”

Alessia Cara has also collaborated with other artists, including Zedd for the song “Stay” and Logic for the hit single “1-800-273-8255,” which addresses mental health issues.

She was nominated for Song of the Year and Record of the Year at the Latin GRAMMYS for her collaboration with Juanes on “Querer Mejor”. Her second studio album, The Pains of Growing released in 2018, won a Juno Award for Album of the Year and Juno Award for Pop Album of the Year and she also won a Juno for Songwriter of the Year. Her third album, “In the Meantime” was released on September 24, 2021 to positive reviews.
